IBEW 2038 Online Training

·                Rigging/Overhead Crane training
Course Length: 16 hours (Saturday and Sunday)
Course dates: this is a work in progress at present as we are attempting to merge this Overhead with mobile rigging and signalling.
Location: IBEW 2038 Hall (Saturday + Sunday morning) Balzers Shop @ White city (Sunday afternoon)
Maximum participants: groups of 6 (please note that the course size will increase to a maximum of 12 once the instructors are comfortable with the course material)

·                Better Supervision Training
We have 7 members taking the better supervision course starting this month with CODC
Course dates are: Nov. 12 & 13, 26 & 27, and December 3 & 4
Location: Travelodge Hotel South (4177 Albert ST - Regina)
There may be another course offered in January/February and there will be one in the spring.
Prerequisite - Currently employed as a General Foreman or Foreman
Others will be considered for this course once we have our current Forepersons complete.
Cost - $1050.00

·                  Leadership for Safety Excellence (LSE)
Course length: 2 days - Monday & Tuesday
Seats are available on a first come first served basis. Call to book (757-0222)
Summary: This program will assist supervisors in building health and safety into their everyday planning. It encourages and promotes a safe work environment where people can work safely, and help make a lasting contribution to the reduction of incident in the industry. This two-day program is designed to provide a knowledge base required to satisfy the legislative duties and obligations.
Dates: Nov. 22 & 23, Dec. 6 & 7, 20 & 21, Jan. 10 & 11, 24 & 25, Feb. 7 & 8, 22 & 23
Cost - $75.00

·                  CWB Welder Certification
Course length: Monday through Friday, Testing on Saturday
Monday to Friday classes start at 3:00pm and run to 11:00pm, Saturday starts at 8:00am
Maximum participants: 12
Until such time as there are enough participants to fill 12 seats we cannot book this course so please call Aaron or the hall to let us know you are interested. The sooner we have 12, the sooner we will run the course.
cost - $800.00 per seat

·                IBEW COE Steward course (Code of Excellence)
Course Length: 1 day - February 3 (Thursday)
Pre-requisite - IBEW Steward course
Maximum participants: 12
During this one day course, participants are instructed on the stewards responsibilities while working for a COE certified contractor.

·                IBEW Steward course
Course Length: 2 days - February 1 & 2 (Tuesday Wednesday)
Maximum Participants: 12
During the two-day course, stewards go through the structure of handling a grievance and grievance mediation as well as the investigation process and other relevant material.

·                COMET (Construction Organizing Membership Education Training)
Course length: 1 day - Saturday December 4, 8:30am to 4:30pm
Maximum Participants: 12
We will be training two trainers this day to allow us to continue doing the COMET course locally. This is a two part course: 1) As members, why do we need to organize? 2) How to organize on worksites: a) Types of worksite organizers b) Workers rights when organizing c) What are unfair labour practices and how do we use them d) Tactics for organizing
